The Herald Democrat April 22, 2012 Sherman - Nicholas J. Sindik, Jr., 67, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012 in Sherman with his family by his bedside. Nick was born in St. Charles, Louisiana, son of Nicholas J. Sindik, Sr. and Vivian Mae Pierce Sindik. He was raised in Addison, Texas where he obtained his pilot's license at the age of 16. He was a former U.S. Marine that flew helicopters while he served in Vietnam. Nick had a love for flying, boating, fishing, scuba diving, painting, cooking, and gardening. Nick married Paula Calhoun on March 17, 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was business owner in the Sherman/Denison area for many years. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling in his motor home with his wife. He was a member of the American Veterans Post #47, American Legion Post 231, and VFW Post 7873. He was a devoted father and husband who will be greatly missed. Nick is survived by his wife; triplet daughters, Leslie Roberts, Vickie Mann and Stephanie Stahl, all of the Dallas area; 2 grandchildren, Jessica and Austin; and brother, Stever Sindik of Tyler, Texas. Graveside services for Nick were held Tuesday afternoon, April 24, 2012 at West Hill Cemetery with Rev. Rene Menjivar officiating.
