James
Knox Polk Williams enlisted inCo. B, 22nd Regiment, Texas Calvary,
C.S.A. April 15, 1863 and served through the remained of the Civil War
with his brother, William Marion Williams. They participated in
the last battle of the war, Battle of Palmito Ranch, near Brownsville,
Texas May 13, 1865. (History of Cass County People, by Cass
