 Shawn Lee Spratt was born June 18, 1950 in Whitewright, Texas, son of Laurence Spratt, Sr. and Ruth Elanor Brown Spratt. Shawn was the second oldest child out of 4 children. He graduated from Sherman High School in 1969 and went on to serve his country by enlisting in the Army in 1971. During his 15 years of service, Shawn toured the Philippines; Berlin, Germany and fought in the Vietnam War. In 1978 he married Sharon Denise Holland. Shawn worked for Grayson County College for 10 years before he retired in January 2015. He loved music, his family and friends. He was a loving and caring person and would give you his last. Shawn was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Laurence Spratt, Jr. and Frankie Spratt. He is survived by his son, Markel Smith; daughter, Leslie Anderson; sister, Sheila Brigmon; special friends, Sharron Spratt and family, and Helen Scott and family; and many other relatives and friends.
