 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas   James R. Scoggins, Jr. 10 September 1943 - 21 June 2012 PFC US Marine Corps   The Herald Democrat June 24, 2012 Dorchester - Graveside services for J.R. Scoggins, Jr., 68, were held Tuesday morning, June 26, 2012 at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman with Rev. Danny Wood officiating. Mr. Scoggins passed from this life on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at his home. James Russell Scoggins, Jr. was born September 10, 1943 in San Diego, California, son of James Russell Scoggins, Sr. and Lorena (Lang) Scoggins. J.R. was a graduate of Sherman High School. After graduation, he served in the United States Marine Corps reserve. J.R. earned his law degree and practiced law for many years and resided at the old Scoggins' home place in Dorchester. He was preceded in death by his father; and a brother, Michael Scoggins. J.R. is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Green of Euless; son, Brad Scoggins and wife, Robin, of Austin; daughter, Jami Scoggins; mother, Lorena Scoggins; brother, Richard Scoggins and wife, Sandra; sister, Eva Richard and husband, Mike; sister, Jan Currans and husband, Kevin; brother, Mark Scoggins and wife, Dianne; sister, Cathy Johnson and husband, Tommy; and sister, Susan Bilyeu and husband, Walter; and several nieces and nephews.
