West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas David Teel 22 September 1930 - 27 February 2011 Jackie Teel 23 September 1932 - 22 February 2009 Wed 23 November 1951 Arlie David Teel, Jr., 80, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the Harbor Lakes Nursing Home in Granbury. He was a 30-year resident of Sherman. Arrangements were under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Saturday morning, March 5, 2011 at First United Methodist Church with Dr. James Pledger and Dr. Tom Peel officiating. Interment followed at West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Teel, Jack Teel, Raymond Teel, Jerry Waughtal, And Waughtal, and Keith Lightfoot. David was born September 22, 1930 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On November 23, 1951 he married Jackie Waughtal and they enjoyed more than 57 years of marriage. David served in the United States Navy Reserves. He received his BSEE from Oklahoma A&M University. David was very involved with his family, church and community. He was an Eagle Scout. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Sherman where he served in many leadership roles. He was also a member of the Adult Fellowship Class, the United Methodist Men and was active in the Great Days of Service. He was an affiliate member of Morgan Mill and Bluff Dale United Methodist Churches. He was a member of the National Eagle Scout Association, Sigma Chi Fraternity, Santa Gertrudis Breeders Association, Professional Engineers, the Republican National Committee, Texoma Wood Carvers, and Texas Wood Carvers Guild. David is survived by 2 sons, Dennis Teel and wife, Helen, of Irving; and Clark Teel and wife, Ninette, of Beaumont; 2 daughters, Leslie Teel of Garland and Laraine Waughtal of Granbury; 6 grandchildren: Michelle Lynn Salinas and husband, Juan; Michael Wayne Teel, Angela Marie Howe and husband, Craig; Jack Augustus and wife, Stacey; Charles Edward Walker Teel and Elizabeth Jacqueline Teel; 7 great-grandchildren: Justin Alexander Salinas; Summer Denise Salinas; Adriana Elizabeth Salinas; Elizabeth Anastasia Howe; Randall Craig Howe; Mallorie Rose Teel; Ethan Wayne Teel; sister, Joan Mays of Austin, Texas; brother, Raymond Teel of Claremore, Oklahoma. The Herald Democrat February 24-25, 2009 Sherman - Jacqueline (Jackie) Gay Waughtal Teel, 76, Sherman resident, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Mullican Care Center. Arrangements were under the direction of Dannel Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, February 25, 2009 at First United Methodist Church with Dr. James Pledger and Dr. Tom Peel officiating. Interment followed at West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Andy Waughtal, Dennis Teel, Clark Teel, Michael Teel, Charles Teel, and Raymond Teel, with Jack Teel serving as honorary pallbearer. Jackie was born September 23, 1932 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On November 23, 1951 she married Arlie David Teel, Jr. in Tulsa and they enjoyed more than 57 years of marriage. She was very actively involved with her family, church and community. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Sherman, where she was active in the Adult Fellowship Class, the handbell choir, the mission committee, and United Methodist Women (having served as President and also Secretary-Treasurer). She was also a member of the Garden Club, Newcomers' Club, Tuesday Literary Club, Bridge Club, Women's Auxiliary of WNJ Hospital, Grayson County Republican Women. In addition she had served as a Girl Scout Leader, Cub Pack Den Mother, and PTA President. Jackie is survived by her husband; sons, Dennis Teel and wife, Helen, of Irving; and Clark Teel and wife, Ninette, of Beaumont; daughters, Leslie Teel of Garland and Laraine Waughtal of Olney; 6 grandchildren: Michelle Lynn Salinas and husband, Juan; Michael Wayne Teel; Angela Marie Howe and husband, Craig; Jack Augustus Teel and wife, Stacey; Charles Edward Walker Teel and Elisabeth Jacqueline Teel; 7 great-grandhilcren; brother, Jerry Waughtal and wife, Ann, of Stillwater, Oklahoma; and a niece and nephew. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Women's Auxiliary of WNJ Medical Center or the United Methodist Women of First United Methodist Church, both in Sherman, Texas.
