West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas The Sherman Daily Democrat Monday, March 27, 1911 pg. 8 Alexander B. French, aged 90 years, died this afternoon at the home of his son, George French, in South Loving Avenue, shortly before 3 o'clock. He had resided here many years. Funeral announcement can not be made at this hour. The Sherman Daily Democrat Tuesday, March 28, 1911 pg. 8 ALEXANDER B. FRENCH Died at Home of His Son Yesterday Afternoon Alexander B. French, Sr., aged about 90 years, a native of New York state and a resident of Sherman for about 10 years, died yesterday afternoon at the home of his son, G.G. French, 1020 East Cherry Street. The deceased had been in bad health for some time but the immediate cause of his death was brought about by a fall at the home last Sunday afternoon, from which he suffered concussion of the brain. Mr. French was commonly known as "Grandpa" French and was at the time of his death one of the oldest residents of Sherman. Before coming to this city he resided in the state of Missouri for a number of years. He is survived by the following children, one son, G.G. French of this city; and 2 daughters, Mrs. Wilshire and Mrs. Waymon of Kentucky. Funeral services were held at 10:30 o'clock this morning at the home and services were conducted by Prof. O.A. Carr of Carr-Burdette College, after which the body was conveyed to West Hill cemetery and there laid to rest.
