West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas The Denison Press Tuesday, September 24, 1940 pg. 1 Funeral services for Albert S. Leecraft, 72, former Denisonian who died last Saturday at Houston from a crushed skull sustained a week previous when he was hit by an automobile, were held Monday afternoon from the Dannel-Scott chapel at Sherman, with Dr. L.L. McCutcheon, officiating. Interment was at West Hill Cemetery where Mr. Leecraft's parents are buried. He moved to Denion 70 years ago with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B.B. Leecraft. His father was an officer of the staff of Gen. Robert E. Lee during the Civil War. Mr. Leecraft was reared and educated in Denison and moved to Houston as a young man where he was engaged in the real estate business for more than a half century. Surviving are his widow; 2 brothers, A.N. Leecraft of Colbert and W.B. Leecraft of California; 2 sisters, Mrs. D.G. Dumas of San Antonio and Mrs. Frank Moody of California; and other relatives.
