 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas  Edwin Leon Morris 20 June 1927 - 20 May 2011 Virginia Mae Morris 28 January 1928 - 2 July 2012  The Herald Democrat June 5, 2011 Whitesboro - Edwin Leon Morris passed away May 20, 2011 at the age of 83. Leon was born in Fame, Oklahoma and was a resident of Denison and Whitesboro, Texas since 1975. He was an accountant for the U.S. Government for 30 years and retired at the age of 49. He enjoyed the simple things in life after retiring like being a good granddaddy, raising cattle, organic gardening and restoring old antique lamps. Leon is survived by his childhood sweetheart and wife of 66 years, Virginia; children, Ann Anders, Bob Morris, Kathy DeCecio; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. The graveside funeral was held Thursday morning, June 9, 2011 at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, Texas. Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman.  Whitesboro - Virginia Mae Morris passed away July 2, 2012 at the age of 84. She was born January 29, 1928 in Blackwell, Oklahoma. Virginia married her childhood sweetheart, Leon Morris, in 1944 at the age of 17, and was his loving wife until his death in 2011. They celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary together in 2010. Virginia and Leon were residents of Denison and Whitesboro, Texas since 1975. Virginia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always went out of her way to help and encourage others around her. Virginia enjoyed the simple things in life like grandkids, organic gardening, bird watching, puppies, frogs, and beautiful sunsets holding Leon's hand. Virginia is survived by her children, Ann Anders Morris of Weatherford, Texas; Bob Morris who resides in Sherman, Texas; and Kathy DeCecio of Azle, Texas.
