West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Albert Woodrow Brown 1 July 1918 - 1 October 2006 US Army Air Forces Captain US Air Force WWII, Korea The Herald Democrat January 19, 2015 Denison - Viola Jones Brown, 94, of Denison passed away Friday, January 16, 2015 at the Baybrook Village Care and Rehab Center in McKinney. A graveside service was held Tuesday morning at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, Texas. Rev. Morgan Malone and Rev. Mark Mitchell officiated. Viola was born on December 1, 1920 in Hagerman, Texas, daughter of George C. and Fannie Shires Jones. She graduated from Denison High School. She and Albert Woodrow Brown were married in Durant, Oklahoma on September 29, 1942 with her sister and his brother as their attendents. He preceded her in death on October 1, 2006. She was a member of the First Baptist Church since the early 1950s where she spent many years teaching Sunday School and was a member and past president of the Denison Texoma Lions Club. Viola was an immaculate housekeeper, avid Denison Yellow Jacket and Dallas Cowboys fan, loved to cook, sew, craft, garden and work in the yard. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son, Albert Brown and wife, Mickey, of Denison; daughter, Carol Light and husband, Colin, of Plano; sister, Violet Bruce of Sherman; grandchildren, Brian Robnett and fiance, Kathryn Andres; Britton Fuller and husband, Timothy; Allison Arnold and husband, Miles; and Nathaniel Brown and wife, Courtney; 5 great-grandchildren with one due to be born in February; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and brother, Herschel Jones. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Baptist Church, 601 W.
