 The Herald Democrat June 16, 2013 Sherman - Viola "Vi" Woods was born August 30, 1952 in Sherman, daughter of Hugh and Bennie Vaughan Woods and passed from this life on Friday, June 14, 2013 at the age of 60. Vi was a lifelong resident of Sherman. She married the love of her life, Orlyn Wilkerson, on February 28, 1981 in Sherman. He preceded her in death on March 9, 1997. Vi had worked as a night clerk at several convenience stores in Sherman for 20 years. She had a close relationship to all the night time policemen and said that they were her "guys." Vi enjoyed bowling and being with family. She was preceded in death by her parents. Vi is survived by her son, James Wilkerson, of Sherman; sister, Nelda Woods of Sherman; brother, Henry Woods, of Newport News, Virginia; cousin, Eva Brown of Sherman; and other cousins and friends. Graveside services were held Monday morning at West Hill Cemetery with Hospice chaplain, Jerry Wallace officiating. Services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
