October 18, 1994 A-6 SHERMAN - Funeral service for Bernice Gurley Vineyard, 70, who died Oct. 16, 1994 at Medical Plaza Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Lester Scally will officiate. Burial will be in the Memorial Park of West Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Vineyard was born on April 27, 1924 in Sherman, daughter of B.B. Blankenship and Maggie Hale Blankenship. She attended Sherman schools and married Robert "Bob" Gurley in August of 1950. Following his death in 1960 she married J.V. Vineyard in 1963 in Sherman. For several years she was a beautician in different shops in Sherman, and was a member of the Central Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Roy Daugherty of Sherman; a daughter, Ann Loflin of Irving; three brothers, Buddy Blankenship of Sherman, Raymond Blankenship of California, Charles Blankenship of Irving; five sisters, Ruth Williams of Sherman, Ruby Blackburn of Denison, Jo Banks and Vera Hileman, both of Marietta, Okla., and Faye Sloan of Irving; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Banks, Paul Daugherty, Don Michael Lovelace, Dewane Emerson, Jeff Lynn and Wayne Sloan. Family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today.
