Graveside services with United States Air Force Military Honors were held Tuesday morning, October 22, 2019 at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, Texas.  He died Friday, October 18, 2019.
Bernard Alfred Spath, Jr. was born May 16, 1935 in Mount Clemons, Michigan, son of Bernard Alfred Spath, Sr and Edna Marie Peltier Spath.
He graduated from Sherman High School in 1953.  During this time, he met the love of his life, Constance Compton.  They were married August 5, 1955.
Bernard joined the United States Air Force on October 2, 1957.  During his 20 plus years he became a Major and was a Pilot Trainer.  He loved fishing and hunting, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and serving his country.
Bernard is survived by his wife; 2 daughters, Nancy Lynn Meadors and husband, Bill, of Winter Spring, Florida; and Lisa Ann Ciabattoni and husband, Tony, of Dickenson, Texas; son Jeffrey Bernard Spath and wife, Justine, of College Station, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Christopher Meadors, Justin Meadors, Johnathan Ciabattoni, Jeffrey Ciabattoni, Hannah Spath-Hardison, and Tyler Spath; He is also survived by one sister, Beverly Ann Hood, of Austin, Texas.
Bernard was preceded in death by his parents.



Graveside services for Constance "Connie" Spath were held Thursday morning, March 2 , 2023  at West Hill Cemetery, Sherman, Texas.
Connie was born April 27, 1935 in Sherman, Texas, daughter of Prentiss Virgil and Dorothy Tate Compton.
Connie spent the first 20 years of marriage as an Air Force wife, traveling the world with Bernie, the love of her life.  Connie was always a very kind, talented and artistic person.  She enjoyed sewing and creating her own designs for herself and her girls.  Later she made stuffed animals and dolls before moving on to quilting and working with wool.  
Connie is survived by 2 daughters, Nancy Lynn Meadors and husband, Bill, of Winter Springs, Florida and Lisa Ann Ciabattoni and husband, Tony, of Dickenson, Texas; son, Jeffrey Bernard Spath and wife, Justine, of College Station, Texas; as well as 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by 2 sisters, Sarah Brightman and Cynthia Holloway; and one sister-in-law, Beverly Ann Hood of Austin, Texas
