 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas   Eugene H. Robertson 22 January 1901 - 11 March 1974 Robbie H. Robertson 19 June 1915 - 20 October 2008  Robbie Hayes Robertson was born June 19, 1915 in Honey Grove, Fannin County, Texas, daughter of Lou Retta Mann Hayes and Robert Taylor Hayes. She was raised in McKinney and graduated from McKinney High School. She attended college in Denton. She married Eugene Robertson July 18, 1942 in McKinney. She lived in Ft. Worth with her sister while her husband was in World War II. She and her husband moved to Sherman in 1946 where she lived the rest of her life. She was the Executive Secretary for the Grayson County Chapter of The American Red Cross from 1964 to 1970. After her husband had passed away in 1974, she held positions in accounting while working for various car dealerships in Grayson County. She retired in 1977. She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church of Sherman. Before the merger of Trinity Presbyterian Church and First Presbyterian Church to form Covenant Presbyterian Church, she was an active volunteer worker in the Trinity church office, and an active member of several church organizations. She continued to live at home until moved to The Villas of Sherman in 2004. She moved to the Homestead of Sherman in February of this year. While at The Villas, she greatly enjoyed the companionship of her neighbors and was a regular participant in the various activities there. Her greatest experience at The Villas was her surprise 90th birthday party. She believed in doing things in the proper ways of her generation, writing letters to remain in touch with friends and relatives, sending thank you notes for kindnesses shown to her, and the importance of treating others propertly and with respect. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor and her willingness to give to her church, community, friends and relatives. She was the second of 5 children born to Robert and Lou Retta Hayes. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 32 years; her brothers, Bill Hayes and Ralph Hayes; and sister, Dorothy Simpson. She is survived by her children, Bob and Linda Robertson of Sherman; sister, Inez Males of Ft. Worth; nieces, Sara Yahr of Ft. Worth; Robbie Krause of New Jersey; Leslie Kent of McKinney; Sharon Hayes of Florida; and nephew Marc Hayes of Dallas. She also leaves behind a large group of friends, and a special group of in-laws that treated her like family for 37 years. Services were held Thursday afternoon, October 23, 2008 at Covenant Presbyterian Church. Rev. Neill Morgan officiated. Interment followed in Memorial Park of West Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bob Robertson, Tom Wilkerson, Mike Payne, Mark Payne, Gary Payne, and Jerry Powers. Honorary pallbearers were Betty and Bill Bledsoe, Marti Kaufman and Todd Phillips.
