Milam 22 August 1908 - 17 May 1992 Winnie Milam 20 August 1906 - 16 September 2001 Thursday, May 21, 1992 Graveside service for William Rush "Bill" Milam, 83, of Sherman who died May 17, 1992 at Country Manor Nursing Home were in West Hill Cemetery under the direction of Waldo funeral home. The Rev. Tom Medley officiated. Milam was born August 22, 1908, in Sadler, son of Rush Milam and Emma Barnes Milam. He attended Southmayd, Hagerman and Denison schools and married Winnie Massey December 2, 1932 in Lawton. Milam was retired manager for Long Star Gas Company. He began his career in 1930 with the Municipal Gas Company in Sherman, which later became known as Community National Gas and then Lone Star Gas. He worked in Sherman, Denison, Bonham, Whitewright and Burkburnett offices. He was manager of Commerce, Lampass and Stephenville offices, retiring in 1970 from the Stephenville office. Prior to his career in the gas company, he was employed by Woolsworth Stores in Denison and Sherman and for Perkins Bros, in Denison and Electra. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Billie Jean Stevenson of Southmayd; a sister, Faye Lane of Denver, Co; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
