services for Bula Irene Cook, 81, of Burleson were held Tuesday,
November 9 at Laurel Land of Burleson Chapel. Burial was at West Hill
Memorial Park in Sherman.
Mrs. Cook died Sunday, November 7, 1999, at her residence. She was a cafeteria worker with the Fort Worth Independent School District, retiring in 1989. She was born August 16, 1918, in Tupelo, Mississippi. She lived in Sherman for several years, moving to Burleson in 1973 after the death of her husband. She attended Alsbury Baptist Church in Burleson. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her husband, Hershel J. Cook in 1973 and son, Jerry Hershel Cook in 1948. She is survived by sons, Nolan Cook and wife, Ruthie of Sherman; David Cook and wife, Jan, also of Sherman; daughters Beverly Thompson and husband, Lonnie of Burleson; Jeanne Fesperman and husband, Eddie of Sherman; brother, Leroy Collum of Sherman; sisters, Audrey Stout of Ardmore, Oklahoma; Mavis Kirk of Ada, Okla.; Nolene Purcell of Oklahoma City, Okla.; Essie Davis of Roff, Okla.; and Irma Lee Highnight of Calexico, California; eleven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
