West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Billy J. Williams 11 July 1929 - 9 January 2017 Betty J. Williams 20 October 1936 - 26 January 2021 Sherman - Funeral service for Betty Jo Williams were held Monday afternoon, February 1, 2021 at Waldo Funeral Home. Rev. David Murphy officiated. Burial followed at West Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Williams, 84, passed away Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Carrus Specialty Hospital. Betty was born October 20, 1936 in Pilot Grove, Texas, daughter of Grady and Oletta Murphree Simpson. She married Billy Jean Williams on August 6, 1955. Betty worked for many years for Tom Thumb Grocery, working as a food service manager for 8 years. She was a Past Matron of the Eastern Star and had been a member since 1965. Mrs. Williams was a member of North Park Baptist Church and a former member of the Red River Cowboy Church. In retirement she and Billy enjoyed traveling. Betty will be remembered as a sweet Christian woman with a generous spirit. She was an excellent mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Neasbitt of Sherman; 2 grandsons, Josh Cato and Joe Neasbitt, Jr., both of Sherman; and 5 great-grandchildren: Addilyn, Bentley, Keagen, Gavin and Stevie. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; and one daughter, Belinda Jean Williams. Billy Jean "Bill" Williams, 87, passed away in Sherman on January 9, 2017. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon, January 13, 2017 at Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman. Rev. David Murphy officiated. Burial was held at West Hill Cemetery, Sherman. Bill was born July 11, 1929 in Bells, Texas, son of William Sanford Williams and Cora Etta Hawkins Williams. Bill served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and received a Bronze Star. He worked for Quaker Oats from 1950 to 1970 as a Millwright. He enjoyed working in his yard, gardening, and cattle ranching. Bill was a member of North Park Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Bill and his wife, Betty, traveled many enjoyable miles with Texoma Travel, exploring the United States and Canada. Bill is survived by his wife, Betty Williams of Sherman; daughter, Barbara Neasbitt and husband, Manny, of Fairview, Texas; grandsons, Josh Cato and wife, Tara, of Sherman; and Joe Neasbitt of Sherman; great-grandchildren: Addilyn Cato; Bentley Cato; Gaven Neasbitt; and great-grandson, Stevie Neasbitt.
