April 12, 1992 P-2 SHERMAN - Verna Pearl Christian Walton, 39, of Sherman, died April 9, 1992 at her residence. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday in the Waldo Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Larry Flemiken officiating. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. Waldo Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born Dec. 26, 1952 in Sherman, daughter of James L. and Thelma Welch Christian. She was a lifetime resident of Sherman and was employed in the housekeeping department of Shady Oaks Nursing Home. She attended New Life Tabernacle Church. Surviving are her mother, of Sherman; daughter, Maurica Areatubby of Sherman; four brothers, Arthur, Fred and Jimmy Christian, all of Sherman, and William E. "Billy" Christian of Loco, Okla.; four sisters, Christie Gurley of Sherman, Jeannie Gilley of Southmayd, Barbara Sanders of Whitewright and Lillian Skipworth of Torna, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
