February 13, 1946 Page 2 Funeral services and burial were held this morning in West Hill for the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Yates, Jr., 1011 South Travis, who died at a local hospital at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, a few hours after birth. John C. Dannel Funeral Home directed. Besides the parents, the infant is survived by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Yates, Sr. and Mrs. H. H. Adlof, all of Sherman. Sherman Democrat December 31, 1984 SHERMAN - Funeral for Charles Yates, 68, who died at his home in Sherman Saturday, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Dannel chapel. Burial will be at West Hill Cemetery. Yates was born in Sherman, June 15, 1916, son of Charles J. and Katie Bell Morris Yates. He was a graduate of Sherman schools, Austin College and Texas A&M University. He married Peggy Jane Tankey, June 15, 1941 in Sherman. He was a retired agent for the Southern Pacific Railroad and a former member of the Lions Club, Andrew Randall Masonic Lodge and the First Baptist Church. He served in the Army in World War II. Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Burgess Buchanan of Sherman. Sherman Democrat May 24, 1982 A15 Services for Mrs. Charles (Peggy) Yates Jr. of 1719 Oak Hill, 630year0old lifelong Sherman resident who died Saturday at a Sherman hospital, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Dannel & Horton Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Tom Brandon of the First Baptist Church and Rev. Robert H. Thompson of Trinity Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Yates was born in Sherman, a daughter of Bruce and June Johnson Pankey, attended Sherman schools and married Charles Yates on June 15, 1941 in Oklahoma. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Wilson N. Jones Hospital Auxiliary and the Sherman Art League. Among those surviving are her husband; and sister, Mrs. John Swaney of Sherman. Pallbearers will be Selim Ozata, Charles Ozata, John Swaney, Burgess Buchanan Jr., John Buchanan, Curry Vogelsang and Logan Hall. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday and other times at 1719 Oak Hill.
