The Denison Press Friday, September 23, 1939 pg. 1 SHERMAN RESIDENT FOR 56 YEARS DIES Sherman, Sept. 23 - Thomas Jefferson Cherry, 84, a Kentuckian who came to Sherman fifty-six years ago, died Friday. Funeral services will be conducted here today. Cherry was a contractor and carpenter for forty-five years. Prior to that he was a farmer. Surviving are a son, Raymond Cherry of Sherman; four daughters, Mrs. Etta Clark of Sherman, Ms. Jack Cocenour and Mrs. Inez Smith of Ryan, Oklahoma, and Miss Hazel Cherry of Corpus Christi and five brothers and one sister.
