West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Juanita Anderson was born February 29, 1928 to Reuben and Pearl Jones in Longleaf, Louisiana. She was introduced to Christ at an early age, under the leadership of her father who was the pastor. At 7 years old she went blind with God returning her sight at the age of 10. She attended Jonesboro Colored High School. She married Edward Bridges in 1951. To this union 5 children were born - Arthur Jones, Delphine Moore, Singleton Jones, Mary Patterson, and Peggie Allen. She later married Jimmie Anderson. Mother Anderson was a supervisor of housekeeping for many years. She was a nurse's aide for 15 years at Wilson N. Jones where she retired. Being born & raised in Louisiana, Mother Anderson shared she picked cotton and understood the need to relocate for better opportunities for herself and family. Mother Anderson was a faithful and dedicated member at Coffey Memorial Church of God in Christ where she servied as the mother of the church for the last 16 years. She loved her church family and her pastors. Prior to that she was an assistant mother of the church to Mother Gladys Griffin for many years. She opened her heart and home to anyone in need and was known as Nanny to many in the community. Her number one passion was serving the Lord. In addition she loved cooking, taking care of her grandchildren, gardening, shopping, eating out, and especially dressing - including her love of earrings and the use of the best perfumes. On Monday, September 17, 2018 Mother Juanita Anderson was called to be with the Lord to reap the rewards from this life here on earth. Mother Anderson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Bernice Glover, Ruth Crooms, and Pearlene Adams; her son, Arthur Ray Jones; daughters, Delphine Moore and Mary Ann Patterson. In 2012 Hurricane Ike claimed the lives of 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who perished in the hurricane. Mother Anderson leaves in the caring hands of God her special loving daughter, Peggie Allen and son, Singleton Jones, both of Denison; grandchildren, Yolanda Jones, Trina Allen, Kysha and Herbert Patterson, Jr.; Cedric and Danielle Jones; Malcolm and Tamera Allen; 8 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; 2 special sons-in-law, that would do anything for her, Lindsay Allen and Herbert Patterson, Sr.; special nieces, LaRhonda Jackson and Darlena Brown; special daughter, Angela Whitfield; a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and her best friend and prayer partner, Mother Jean Riddick. Funeral services were held Saturday noon, September 22, 2018 at Cravens Funeral Home in Denison with burial following at West Hill Cemetery.
