West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Sherman - Johnny Edward Beaver, Jr. was born March 20, 1949 in Merkel, Texas, son of Johnny and Susana Mayes Beaver. He was the oldest son out of 12 children. He attended school at Booker T. Washington in Sweetwater, Texas until integration. He then attended high school in Trent, Taylor County, Texas. Johnny played offense for the Trent Gorillas football team and was a long distance runner on the track team. He loved tractors and heavy equipment and often talked about how at 5 years old. His father put him on a tractor so he could learn how to operate it along with his father to work in the cotton fields. He loved sports and was a diehard Dallas Cowboy fan. He loved the Lord and never missed a chance to tell people how he had accepted the Lord and the changes He had made in his life. He leaves to cherish his memories, the love of his life, wife and best friend for 43 years, Debbie, of Sherman; 6 children, Carolyn Turner of Idabel, Oklahoma; Johnny Beaver, Derrick Oliver and Eric Oliver, all of Waco, Texas; Simona Greene and Sanevia Beaver of Plano, Texas; sister, Bertha Beaver of Abilene, Texas; brothers, Herbert and wife, Janet Beaver, and Gilbert and wife, Linda Beaver, both of Tye, Texas; Richard and wife, Cindy Beaver, of Trent, Texas; Benjamin and wife, Veronica Beaver, of Ft. Worth, Texas; aunts, Mrs. Elizabeth Mays of Houston; and Mrs. Gertrude Mays Wyatt of Taylor, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Johnny passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2018 in Wilson N. Jones Medical Center, Sherman. Funeral services for Johnny, age 69, were held Monday morning, December 10, 2018 in the St. John CME Church, Sherman. Rev. Rodney Patten, pastor, officiated. Burial followed in West Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to James E.
