 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas  Bonham, Texas - Graveside services for Bernice McFarlin, 86, of Bonham, Texas were held Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman under the direction of Wise Funeral Home. Her son-in-law, Bro. Dan Mazy officiated with interment following at West Hill Cemetery. Bernice passed away May 6, 2018. She was born July 2, 1931 in Bonham to Charles Lee and Lula Kitty Judge. Bernice married Bobby Eugene McFarlin February 1, 1947 in Bonham. She loved anything from the 1940s era. She wrote poetry since her childhood, read the Bible cover to cover multiple times, and lived by its words. Bernice was an animal lover, especially cats and birds. She would talk to them as her best friends. The highlight of her life was the opportunity to make a trip to the Holy Land in the late 1960s and walk where Jesus walked. She loved telling stories and making others laugh. Her home was her "castle" and she kept it immaculate. She enjoyed keeping in touch with family and friends on the phone. When anyone offered generosity to her, she showed her appreciation many times over. Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; and her infant brother. Surviving are her husband of 71 years; daughter, Bobette Mazy and husband, Dan, of Early, Texas; two grandchildren, Lindsey Dawn Mazy and Emma Rose Mazy; and brother-in-law, Jack McFarlin and wife, Juanita, of Bonham. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Brandon Mazy, Tony Mazy and her nephews, Larry McFarlin, Randy McFarlin.
