McLynn 1877 - 1905 Elizabeth McLynn 1901 The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, February 21, 1904 pg. 4 Carl McLynn, a Denison raised boy, died Wednesday in Sherman from an overdose of headache powder. Carl had suffered for a long period with violent headaches and was in the habit of taking the powder for relief. McLynn died at a room in the Binkley Hotel. The death of this young man is a very sad event. He was very popular with all who knew him. He was a very brilliant young businessman. A few years ago, he was married to the daughter of Judge D.E. Bryant. He leaves a young wife and one child. His mother is Mrs. C.H. Collins and he has a married sister, Mrs. Willis, who is a resident of the Territory. The Bonham News Friday, February 26, 1904 pg.3 ALL OVER TEXAS Carl McLynn, book-keeper for Patty-Joiner-Eubank Co., at Sherman, died last week of an overdose of bromidia. NOTE: Bromide compounds, especially potassium bromide, were frequently used as sedatives in 19th and early 20th centuries....Lithium bromide was used as a sedative beginning in the early 1900s....
