Sherman Dailey Democrat Wednesday, January 15, 1919 pg.5 Funeral services for Mrs. William L. McKee, who died in Chicago, will be held in Sherman tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery. Mrs. McKee was formerly Miss Margaret Sturgis of this city. Sherman Daily Democrat Sunday, January 18, 1919 pg. 4 MRS. WILLIAM L. McKEE Funeral Services Held Here for Young Woman Who Died in Chicago The funeral of Mrs. William L. McKee, who was formerly Miss Margaret Sturgis of Sherman, was held from the First Presbyterian Church Friday, the pastor Dr. T.A. Wharton, officiating. The pallbearers were: Judge J.H. Wood, John Livingston, Will Eubank, W.A. Murphy, H.H. Cummins, and John Harvey, the latter of Denison. Interment was made in West Hill Cemetery, where many beautiful flowers covered the grave. Mrs. McKee died Monday night at her home in Chicago, following a brief illness with pneumonia. She was born at Hillsboro, but moved to Sherman with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Sturgis, while but a child. She lived in this city until her marriage in 1912 to William McKee, vice president of the Fort Dearborn National Bank of Chicago, when she went to Chicago to live. Besides her husband and mother, who now lives at Ft. Worth, she is survived by a sister, Miss Ada Reid Sturgis, of Port Arthur. Mrs. Sturgis had many friends in Sherman who were grieved to learn of her untimely death. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church of this city.
