William Perry Waldrop was born October 30, 1910 in Howe, Grayson County, Texas. He passed away in Waco, Texas on Sunday, June 19, 2005. He lay in state at Dannel Funeral Home in Sherman, Texas, prior to a graveside service at West Hill Cemetery in Sherman on Tuesday, June 21, 2005, with Dr. Tom Brandon, Pastor Emeritus of First Baptist Church, Sherman, officiating. He is survived by Douglas Price Thompson, Jr., of Beaumont, who is the son of his sister, Mildred Thompson, and also by the grandchildren of his sister, Dorothy Corbin: Billy Glen Corbin, Jonathan Tod Corbin, and Caroline Corbin Hughes, all of Grayson County. He cherished the lasting friendships he made while attending Baylor. Among these life-long friends are Mildred Bostick Brinegar, James Vernon Hilliard, deceased; John Duke Pickle, John Sidney Smith, deceased; Henry Grey Vermillion. Judge R.C. Slagle, II, deceased of Sherman, was always remembered as an honored friend. Waldrop remained especially grateful to his faithful nephew, Jimmie Tom McDonnell. Honorary pallbearers were Walcott (Wally) Black, Billy Glenn Corbin, Jonathan Tod Corbin, Caroline Corbin Hughes, George C. McDonnell, J. Tom McDonnell, Douglas Price Thompson, Jr., Jay Thompson, and Judge R.C.
