 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas The Whitewright Sun Thursday, August 27, 1936 pg. 5 J.H. Duke, 66, prominent Grayson County land owner and resident of the county since childhood, died at 1:15 a.m. Saturday at his home two miles west of Sherman. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon from the family home with Rev. Roy H. Biser, pastor of the Central Christian Church of Sherman, in charge. Burial was in West Hill Cemetery. Mr. Duke was born January 12, 1870 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and came to Texas with his parents when he was one year old. He is survived by his wife, two sons, one daughter and five grandchildren.
