 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas  Johnny Wilburn Holmes 1 November 1918 - 24 June 2000 Lois Gurley Holmes 21 December 1918 - 29 April 1988  James Michael Homes was born August 24, 1949 in Sherman, Texas. He passed from this life to the next peacefully in his home with family, Tuesday, June 22, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Lois Holmes; and brother, Johnny Wayne Holmes. He is survived by brother, Louis Ray Holmes of Sherman. He leaves behind 4 children: Kelli Butrum of White Oak; Jennifer Brinkley, Chad Holmes and Brandon Holmes, all of Sherman. He had 3 grandchildren, Shilala "Shay" Butrum of Georgetown; Ashley Brinkley of Sherman; and Payton Brinkley of Sherman. He had one great-grandchild, Grayson Howell. Throughout his life, Mike enjoyed working on cars, especially the old classics. He bought, sold and traded vehicles frequently. You could always find him out tinkering with one or more in his driveway. Cars were definitely his passion. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
