 West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas  Christopher James Matlock 21 April 1991 - 19 April 2012 The Herald Democrat April 22, 2012 Sherman - Services to celebrate the life of Chris Matlock, 20, were held Monday, April 23, 2012, at West Hill Cemetery with Jack Crockett officiating. Christ was born April 21, 1991 in Sherman to Ed Matlock and Karen Crockett Matlock and passed from this life on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at his home. Christ was a graduate of S&S High School in 2009. After high school, he attended Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee, where he played baseball. After a stint there, he came back home and was attending Grayson County College in Denison and working for Globitech. HIs passion was playing and watching baseball. Chris was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers. He loved being with his family and enjoyed fishing. Chris was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Fred Crockett and W.D. Austin, and grandmother, Juanita Austin. He is survived by his parents; sisters, Megan Matlock of Sherman and Gwynne Palmore and husband, Steve, of Denison; grandmother, Glenda Crockett of Sherman; nephews, Jesse and Cody Palmore of Denison; aunt, Joyce Cole and husband, Jim, of Richardson and their children, Scott Cole of Arizona, and Kelly Russell and husband, Ty, and 4 children of Arkansas; aunt Karla Colwell and husband, Frank, of Sherman, and their son, Zach; uncle, Roger Crockett of Florida, fiancee Brittany McCool of Sherman; and many friends. Pallbearers were Brodie Bolen, Cody Bolen, Drew Welsh, Vincent Torrefranca, Jesse Palmore, and Cody Palmore. Services were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.
