Ann Parker Hand died at her home on North Travis Street December 21,
1911. She was born September 30, 1840 in Edgar Co., Illinois,
daughter of Levi and Abigail Parker. She married William A. Hand
in 1859 in Edgar Co., Illinois. The Hands came to Sherman in 1901 and resided on North Travis Street since then. She is survived by her husband; two sons, Anson P. Hand and wife, Annie, and Keefer C. Hand and wife, Leila, both of Sherman; two grandchildren, William Henry Hand and Sarah Ardella Hand and husband, Henry Cyrus Mathews, all of Sherman; two great-granddaughters, Josephine and Mildred Mathews. May 22, 1913 William Hand Dead Passed Away at His Home Here Yesterday Afternoon William A. Hand, 77 years of age, died at the family residence, 1103 North Travis Street, at 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon. He is survived by two sons, Keefer C. Hand and wife, Leila, and Anson P. Hand and wife, Annie, both of Sherman. Two grandchildren, William Henry Hand and Sarah Ardella Hand and husband, Henry Cyrus Mathews, of Sherman; one great-granddaughter, Josephine Mathews. Mr. Hand came to Sherman eleven years ago from Paris, Illinois. His wife, Mrs. Sarah Hand died December 21, 1911, and it was beside her that he was laid to rest this afternoon. Funeral services were held at the residence at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. G.F. Bradford of the Central Christian Church, of which he was a member. Many beautiful flowers were sent to the residence and placed on the grave, and a large number of people attended the funeral.
