West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas The Rice Belt Journal Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana February 26, 1904 pg. 2 DEATH FROM LOCKJAW Sherman, Texas - The second death from tetanus or lockjaw to occur in Sherman within the week was that of Charley, the four year old son of Dr.and Mrs. L.P. Gunby, Saturday evening. The fatal development followed blood poisoning, which set up a slight nail wound on the head. The first death was that of Charley Webb, aged 12 years, son of County Judge Judge G.P. Webb, and developed from a wound in the hand from a toy pistol.
