West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Sherman Democrat June 21, 1957 Page 2 Funeral services for Mrs. Bessie V. Wyche, 67, of 1107 E. Richards, widow of the late Edward C. Wyche, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Key Memorial Methodist Church. Mrs. Wyche died Thursday at 8:30 p.m. in a local hospital after a two-day illness. The Rev. Walter Zimmerman of Dallas, Methodist minister, the Rev. James Simpson, pastor, and the Rev. E. L. Silliman, retired Methodist minister, will conduct the service. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery, directed by Barrett Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Lee Agnew, Oscar Bilger, D. R. Fain, Wayne Lucas, Freeman Philpott and Hubert Stephens Jr. Born May 16, 1890 in Coke County, Mrs. Wyche came to Sherman in 1934. She was the daughter of the late James C. and Sophronia Ann Kemp Newton. On Jan. 8, 1908, she married Edward C. Wyche. He died April 10, 1958. Mrs. Wyche was a local representative for Royal Neighbors Insurance Co., which she had served as district deputy and recorder. She was a member of Key Memorial Methodist Church. Survivors are a son, James C. Wyche of Denver, Colo.; five sisters, Mrs. G. A. Breman of Sweetwater, Mrs. Bryan Yarbrough of San Angelo, Mrs. R. C. Durrett of Panhandle, Mrs. Houston Hill of Midland, Mrs. Virgil Barrett of Fontonia, Calif.; and two grandchildren, Donna Jo Wyche and Joan Michelle Wyche, both of Denison. Sherman Democrat April 10, 1953 Page 2 Rites Set Sunday for Edward C. Wyche, Barber Funeral services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Key Memorial Methodist Church for Edward C. Wyche, 69, a barber and holder of the Silver Beaver for outstanding work in scouting. He died Friday at 1 p.m. at a local hospital. The Rev. Walter Zimmerman, of Dallas, former pastor, will conduct the service. Assisting will be the Rev. W. Raymond Corrigan, pastor, and the Rev. E. L. Silliman. The body will remain at the funeral home until time for services. Pallbearers will be Lee Agnew, Oscar Bilger, Boyd Evans, D. B. Fain, Wayne Lucas, J. Tip Newell, Freeman Philpot and L. T. Young. Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery, directed by Barrett Funeral Home. Mr. Wyche was a native of Kerrville and a son of the late Robert and Nora Davenport Wyche. His wife is the former Miss Bessie Newton of Robert Lee. He had lived in Sherman for nearly 19 years. He was a member of the Masonic Order and was institutional representative of Scout Troop 11 at the church, which he has previously served as scoutmaster for several years. He was a member of the Key Memorial Methodist Church and served on the board of stewards for a number of years. Survivors include his wife; a son, James C. Wyche of Denver, Colo., two brothers, W. A. Wyche of Springfield, Colo., and R. E. Wyche of Ringling, Okla., two sisters, Mrs. B. F. Springfield and Miss Grace Wyche, both of Marlin; and one granddaughter, Donna Jo Wyche of Denver.
