hursday, May 29, 1919 pg. 5 Dr. Joe Wolfe arrived from France yesterday and is visiting his uncle and aunt, Judge and Mrs. J.A.L. Wolfe. Dr. Wolfe had been practicing medicine in Van Alstyne 4 years before his enlistment and spent 20 months in France. He went overseas with the 154th Aero squadron and was later transferred to the 15th Engineering Corps and was in several of the big drives. He comes back in fine condition, having gained in weight, and will soon resume his practice. McKinney Weekly Democrat-Gazette Thursday, August 18, 1927 pg. 2 Sherman, Texas, Aug. 11 - Dr. J.A.L. Wolfe, 40 years old, one of the leading physicians of Sherman and a member of the medical and surgical clinic, died at St. Vincent's Sanitarium Wednesday. He took ill last Friday, and is said to have suffered with heart trouble. He is survived by his wife, who was formerly Miss Nell Dorsett of this city, and one daughter. Dr. Wolfe came to Sherman about 10 years ago. He came to Grayson county from Virginia and first located in Van Alstyne, coming here 2 years later. He was a nephew of the late Judge J.A.L. Wolfe of Sherman, for whom he was named, and also a cousin to Sam Wolfe, assistant county attorney of Grayson county.
