West Hill Cemetery Sherman, Texas Guadalupe Macias 9 May 1962 - 30 July 2011 Maria Macias 2 November 1956 - Guadalupe Macias 9 May 1962 - 30 July 2011 US Army The Herald Democrat August 1, 2011 Funeral Mass for Guadalupe Macias, 49, of Sherman, was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, at the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sherman. Burial followed at the West Hill Cemetery in Sherman. Guadalupe passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ in Sherman. A Rosary was held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, August 2 at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel. Family night will follow from 6:30 - 8 p.m. Arrangements were under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home in Sherman. Guadalupe "Lupe" was born in Hollis, Oklahoma, the son of Jose and Virginia A. Almendarez Macias. He passed away at the Texas Helath Presbyterian Hospital-WNJ in Sherman, Texas. He graduated from high school in Wauchula, Florida. He joined the United States Army and served our country d uring Desert Storm. On February 3, 1999 he married Maria Gutierrez. He was employed at United Rentals in Sherman. Lupe had many work skills which allowed him to do many different jobs. Lupe was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Parish in Sherman, where he served as an Usher. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and Hispanic Heritage. Lupe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe Macias, Sr. and Trinidad and aurelia Almendarez. Left to mourn his passing and cherish his memories, he is survived by his wife of Sherman; parents of McKinney; two brothers, Steve Macias of McKinney and Joe Macias III of Wauchula, Florida; two daughters, Pelina Macias and Patsy Macias, both of Wauchula; two sons, Jacob Macias of Temple, Texas and Tony Macias of Wauchula; two step-daughters, Patricia Rosas of Marietta Oklahoma and Priscilla FLores of Madill, Oklahoma and one step-son, Ruben Rocha of Arlington, Texas. He is also survived by his 16 grandchildren and one great-grandon. A Rosary was recited by Deacon Tomas Avila, St. Mary's Catholic Parish, at the Waldo Funeral Home Chapel, Sherman. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Sherman, with Reverend Jeremy Myers, Pastor, St. Mary's Catholic Parish, officiating.
