Mrs. B.B. Kimbell Dies at Fort Worth
Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Bell Jones Kimbell, wife of the late B.B. Kimbell, were held at the Methodist Church here Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock.  Mrs. Kimbell died suddenly at her home in Fort Worth Sunday at 2:30 p.m. of heart trouble.  She had been in poor health for several years.
Mrs. Kimbell was born in Freestone County, July 18, 1865.  She was married to B.B. Kimbell 53 years ago, and they resided for many years at Oakwood.  They moved to Whitewright in 1900, when Mr. Kimbell purchased the Beatrice Milling Company, parent company of the present various Kimbell properties.  She became vice president of the company following the death of Mr. Kimbell in 1922, when her son, Kay Kimbell, was advanced to the presidency.  Mrs. Kimbell resided in Whitewright until eight years ago, when she moved to Fort Worth.  During her 26 years' residence in Whitewright she made many loyal and true friends.  Mrs. Kimbell was a good neighbor and those who knew her best loved her most.  She had many beautiful traits of character which endeared her to her friends.  She was a devoted wife and affectionate mother and gave her home and family.  She was a member of the Whitewright Methodist Church.
The funeral services were conducted by Rev. C.W. Dennis, pastor of the Methodist Church.  The Rev. K.R. Isbell, pastor of the Key Memorial Methodist Church at Sherman, who was Mrs. Kimbell's pastor here for three years, and Rev. W.J. Epting of Celina, former pastor of the First Baptsti Church of Whitewright, made talks following reading of the Scriptures by the Rev. Dennis.  BOth paid beautiful tributes to the life of Mrs. Kimbell, and told of their visits in her home.  On these visits they said she never failed to ask them to lead in prayer or read from the Bible.
The Rev. W.R. White, pastor of the First Methodist Church at Fort Worth, officiated at brief services at the late home in Fort Worth Tuesday morning, before the funeral cortege left for Whitewright.
The floral offering was probably the largest ever seen in Whitewright.  The pulpit and altar were banked with flowers and the casket was surrounded with beautiful wreaths.  Lloyd Moore of Denison, formerly of Whitewright, had charge of the funeral arrangements.  The body was laid to rest in the Kimbell lot in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The pallbearers were R.H. Jay, C.B. Smith, W.L. Newsom, K.K. Smith, Wm. Fleming, Sam Gladney, Fort Worth; James Thompson and Rhom Carr, Sherman.
Mrs. Kimbell is survived by two children, Kay Kimbell of Forth Worth, and Mrs. Coleman Carter of Sherman.  She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. B.F. Pryor of Rusk and Mrs. John Childress of Oakwood, and a brother, R.L. Jones of Fort Worth, all of whom were present at the funeral service.
There was a large number of people here for the funeral service from Fort Worth, Dallas, Sherman, Denison, Oakwood, Rusk, Trenton, Tom Bean and other places.
