 Robert Douglas, Jr. 2 September 1949 - 18 August 2011  The Herald Democrat August 24, 2011 SHERMAN - Robert Douglas Jr., 61, passed away Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Red River Regional Hospital, Bonham. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, August 25, 2011 in the Carrie White Chapel at Angelic Mortuary. Rev. Ricky Sommers Sr., pastor, of Washington St. Church of the Living God-Greenville. Burial will be at West Hill Cemetery, Sherman. Mr. Douglas was born on September 02, 1949, Sherman, Texas to Robert and Ollie Mae Douglas Sr. He was a 1968 graduate of Sherman High School. Robert was a former member of the St. John CME Church. He lived in Washington DC for many years and was an Animal Caretaker for the Smithsonian National Zoological Park for over 13 years. Survivors are his brothers Michael W. Douglas (Christine) of Virginia Beach, VA., Mickey Douglas of Sherman, Sherwood Douglas of Sherman; sisters Beverly J. Ballard (Sherwood) Upper Marlboro, MD., Roberta Stanley (Lorenzo) of East St. Louis, IL., Pamela Green (Melvin) of Sherman, Sherrie McSee (Arnold) of Sherman. Wake will be held 6-7 p.m., Wednesday. Public viewing from 10-8 p.m.. the family will receive friends at 1716 James Street. Arrangements are under the direction of Angelic Mortuary.
