  Tonia J. Carter 31 December 1967 - 24 September 2013  The Herald Democrat September 26, 2013 Denison - Tonia Jane Carter, 45, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center. Mrs. Carter is survived by her family: husband, Lance Carter of Denison; children: Ashland Carter; Dillon Hobbs; Shealynn Hobbs; and Drew Puckett; 3 grandchildren; mother, Jane Smitherman of Denison; sisters, Lorie Embry of Tom Bean; Dana Johnston of Cartwright, Oklahoma; Shandra Douglas of Brownwood; and Laura Strong of Van Alstyne; brothers, Danny Smitherman of Tom Bean; Lee Douglas of Denison; and Michael Douglas of McKinney. Graveside services were held Friday afternoon at Cedar Cemetery with Michael Douglas officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home in Denison.
