Johnny Hoket 1955 - 2013 Barbara Ann Hoket was born March 12, 1954 in Sherman, Texas, daughter of Junior and Awana Morris. After attending school in Tom Bean, Texas, she met her spouse and best friend, Johnny Lynn Hoket. They had two children, Justin and shortly after, Ashley. She was more than a mother, she was my best friend. She always had her door open and the fridge stocked for all of her so-called adopted kiddos as well. Along with being a hard worker in everything she did, her life's devotion was making a place for all whom were in need. She was an even better Nonnie to her grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her spirit was as lively and beautiful as the flowers she so adored. All life's lessons and influences that she leaves with will forever remain in our hearts and thoughts. She personally departed while holding her daughter's hand, Tuesday, July 13, 2020 at TMC Hospital in Denison, surrounded by her loved ones. Barbara, better known as "Nonnie" was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Byron and Henry Morris; nieces, Tonia Carter and Lori Embry; and her beloved husband, Johnny Lynn Hoket. Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children, Ashley and Rusty Belcher of Southmayd; Justin and Rachel Hoket of Sherman; Brandy Hendrix of Tyler; Megan and Chip Potts of Lavaca, Arkansas; Miranda and Garthemo Carrasco, of Savoy; Sheena and Charles Ross of Denison; and Jennifer Beyer of Dorchester. Nonnie's pride and joy were her grandchildren: Colt, Madeline; Lexis; Peyton; and Rusty Belcher, Jr. of Southmayd; Hayden Hoket of Denison; Jozi Hoket of Dorchester; BreeAnn Potts of Lavaca, Arkansas; Madison Hunter and Alicia Carrasco of Savoy; great-grandchildren, Serenity and Madden Gay of Sherman brought such a smile to her face. She was so close with sisters, Jane Smitherman of Denison; Connie Woodson of Denison; Theresa and Appalo Adams of Tom Bean; brothers, Steve Agee of Greenville; and Bobby Morris of Illinois. Anyone who knew her knows that right now while in Heaven she is on the hunt for John Wayne. While watching over her grandchildren and great-grandbabies while drinking a Dr. Pepper and smoking a cig. Graveside services were held Tuesday morning, July 21, 2020 at Cedar Cemetery. Pallbearers were Justin Hoket, Rusty Belcher, Colt Belcher, Danny Smitherman and Steve Agee.
