The Whitewright Sun Thursday, October 8, 1925 pg. 1 IDA MERCHANT DEAD David Crockett Cole, 74, died at his home at Ida at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. He had been a merchant at Ida for 34 years. He was one of the most prominent men in that community and his death will be felt by not only his immediate family but by the community as a whole. He had been a member of the Methodist Church for many years and foremost in all activities to improve the community. The funeral will be held at his home in Ida Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Ben Bell of the Methodist Center Church will officiate. The deceased is survived by 2 brothers, W.C. Cole of Cedar community; and R.W. Cole of Myra; 5 sisters, Mrs. Abe Fulton, Wichita Falls; Mrs. I.H. Fulton, Dallas; Mrs. J.W. Cooper, Dallas; Mrs. J.W. Hash, Sherman. He reared 5 children left orphans on the death of his brother, John Cole. They are W.W. Cole, New York; Mrs. Roy Savage, Ida; Mrs. Frank Spence, Haskell; Miss Mary G. and John C. Cole of Ida.
