Tom Bean - Horace Vincent, 90, of Tom Bean, died February 22, 2001 at Tom Bean.  Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2002 in Earnheart Chapel in Whitewright.  Rev. Don Howland, Rev. John Kay of the Firt United Methodist Church and Rev. Don Myers officiated.  Burial was in Cedar Cemetery in Grayson County.
Mr. Vincent was born February 16, 1911 in Grayson County.  He was the son of Thomas Sanford Vincent and Mary Freeman Vincent.  
He married Trula Holloway on April 4, 1936 in Durant, Oklahoma.  He was a retired farmer and member of the First Baptist Church in Tom Bean.
Surviving are his wife, Trula Vincent of Tom Bean; brother, T.S. Vincent of Keatchie, Louisiana.
Pallbearers were Ben Vincent, Mike Dodson, Jimmy Dodson, Daryl Sprayberry, Pat Pelly and Royce Richardson.


Trula Elaine Vincent, 92, of Tom Bean, Texas died Saturday, June 21, 2008 at her residence in Tom Bean, Texas.  Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at Earnheart Chapel, Tom Bean, Texas.  Officiating the service was Rev. Don Howland.  Burial followed at Cedar Cemetery in Grayson County, Texas.  Pallbearers were Mike Dodson, Don Hamilton, Ryan Holloway, Bubba Love, Pat Pelley and James Pelly.
Trula Vincent was born June 22, 1915 at Gainesville, Texas to Jesse J. Holloway and Josie Amanda Cleveland Holloway.  She married Horace Vincent on April 4, 1936 at Durant, Oklahoma.  Trula owned, managed and personally ran Vincen'ts Grocery for many years.  Her inherent business sense enabled her to successfully operate the small corner grocery store and propelled it into the town's folklore.  Mrs. Vincent, lovingly known by most as "Aunt Trula," spent the majority of her life mentoring and caring for other people's children.  She loved the farm and animals.  She will forever be remembered for her colorful stories of days gone by.  She taught by example and practiced her own teachings with humility.  Her expressive eyse and kind smile will be missed by many.
She is survived by sister, Jessie Jo Geer of Riverside, California; sisters-in-law, Mae Holloway of Howe; Hellen Holloway of Owasso, Oklahoma; and Jean VIncent of Garland; long-long-time caregiver, Brenda Foster of Tom Bean; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers, Herbert, Calvin, William "Bill" and James Holloway.

Tom Bean - Lottie Dale Nelson Vincent passed away Wednesday, July 10, 1996, at her home in Tom Bean.  Services were held Saturday in Earnheart Funeral Chapel in Tom Bean.  David Griffin of Sherman and Raymond Brown of Whitewright, retired Baptist ministers, officiated.  Burial was in Cedar Cemetery near Tom Bean.
Mrs. Vincent was born near Whitewright, the daughter of Ben and Alta Price Nelson. She received her education at Tom Bean, East Texas State University and Austin College.  She married  J.C. Vincent January 8, 1938 in Howe.
She began her teaching career in 1961 and retired in 1985 after 24 years at Tom Bean Independent School District.
She is survived by her husband of Tom Bean; two sons, Joe and Ben of Tom Bean; two daughters, Kathie Pelley of Gunter and Tommie Wood of Sherman; and one sister, Louise Key of Tom Bean.
Memorials may be made to Texoma Regional Cancer Center, 2800  Highway 75 North, Sherman, Texas 75090 in care of Mary Bridges.
