Saturday, November 20, 1920 pg.3 Samuel W. Martin, single, died at his home at Ida in this county Friday night, at the age of 74 years. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. David Fuller of Bells and interment was made in Cedar Cemetery. Mr. Martin is survived by3 brothers and a sister: W.C. Martin of Virginia; R.H. Martin of Ida; Nick Martin of Cedar; and Mrs. Susan Palmer of Whitewright. The Dallas Morning News January 30, 1940 DIES ON FARM WHERE HE LIVED 55 yeARS Nick Martin, 82, father of Mrs. E.C. Bryant of Dallas, died Monday near Whitewright on the farm where he moved when he came to Texas in 1885. Survivors include his wife and a son, Frank Martin, of Whitewright; and four daughters, Mrs. J.W. Peel, Mrs. E.C. Riley, Mrs. John McDonald and Mrs. H.B. Teague, all of Sherman.
