Bazel Stinson was born May 12, 1835 in Obion Co., Tennessee. He
met and married 1) Hannah Jane Barnett, February 19, 1856 in
Evansville, Vanderburgh County, Indiana, with whom he had 3 sons and 1
daughter. The couple were divorced February 7, 1874 in
Vanderburgh Co., Indiana.
Dora Thea Greiner Stinson J.B. came to Red River County, Texas where he met and fell in love with 2) Dora Thea Greiner. Because her parents' disapproved of the marriage, they eloped on July 13, 1873 and were married in Clarksville, Red River County, Texas. Together they had 4 sons and 2 daughters. Dora's family disowned her for marrying a Yankee. He was about 25 years older than Dora, born September 7, 1853 in Clarksville, Red River County, Texas, daughter of Christoph Ferdinand Greiner and Dorothea Bohlen. J.B. & Dora Stinson resided at 813 Travis Street, Denison, Texas. (Sherman, Texas City Directory, pg. 221, c1903 & Denison~Sherman City Directory, pg.130, c1898-1899)) John B. was in business (J. B. Stinson & Son) with his son as painters, John B. Stinson, Jr., located at 117 N. Houston. (Sherman, Texas City Directory, pg. 221, c1903) John B. Stinson died January 10, 1919 at the age of 83. Dora lived until November 24, 1949 in Denison, Texas, where she died at the age of 96.
