The Dr. was born in Tennessee, June 11, 1853. Parents were old residents of Tenn. and his father was a member of Congress from his district in 1835. And was one of the largest taxpayers in the state.
Dr. Rhea received an academic education and when about 20 years old commenced the study of his profession. And in
two years commenced the practice of his profession, remaining there until Dec. 1875, when he came to Denison. After remaining here one year, commenced the practice of his profession and has since been in it. His practice has grown to be one of the largest in the city.

The Dr. owns a large amount of Real Estate. And is very much pleased with the outlook here. Thinks Real Estate is a splendid investment.
Was married in Sherman, Texas, April 1883 to Miss Baron of Sherman, a native of Texas. Her father a very prominent man of Missouri.

PHYSICIANS AND SURGEONS
Dr. James Rhea, resident dentist, has fitted up an elegant office in room No. 2, Muller block.  Dr. Rhea is a scientific dentist and is prepared to do all kinds of dental work in an artistic manner, proving that he understands his business thoroughly.  He makes plate work a specialty, and when it comes to filling a cavity in a tooth, or extracting a molar, he does it in a very scientific manner.  He is a clever gentleman and a careful workman.  Dr. Rhea and family moved to Durant in late 1898 to live there for a short time in order to "make good his right to citizenship in the Territory."  (The Sunday Gazetteer, Sunday, November 6, 1898, pg. 4)
