Christian Gottfried Mueller Paul Otto Mueller (1873-1937) and Augusta Rosa "Rose" Himsel ( 1882-1974) were married April 26, 1902 before the Registrar after being questioned separately if they were willing to be wed. Answering "yes", the Registrar announced them with the German Civil Code as man and wife. Paul, aged 28, was the son of a foreman and Rosa, aged 19, was the daughter of a state train fire man. All of Paul and Rosa's children were born in Germany: Henry "Heinrich" Otto Mueller (1903-1973) Christian G. Mueller (1905-1969) Frederick Joachem Mueller (1907-1985) Ruth Ursula Mueller (1913-1994) Paul Otto Mueller remained in Dresden, Saxony, Germany where died in 1937 in their homeland, at the age of 64 years. Heinrich Mueller was the first to immigrate from Germany to the United States in spring 1923; he was single and his occupation was electrician. He left Germany at the Port of Bremen on the ship SS Stuttgart and arrived at the port in New York City on May 19, 1923; his final destination was Morton Grove, Illinois where his uncle, Adolf Poehner, lived. Heinrich was described as 5' 9"with blonde hair, brown eyes and fair complexion. He had $25 in his possession. (List or Manifest of Alien Passengers for the United States Immigration Officer at Port of Arrival) Heinrich may have served in the New York National Guard and made his way to the Phillipines by way of Hawaii. He married Rosario Dayap and their first son was born August 14, 1932 in the Phillipines. Heinrich died May 4, 1972 in the Phillipines. Christopher Mueller, aged 19 years, followed his older brother to the United States in 1925, leaving Germany at the port of Bremen on the ship Stuttfart and arriving in New York City on February 18, 1925; his final destination was Chicago, Illinois. He also listed his uncle, Adolf Poehner, as the relative living in the United States. Chris is described at 6' 1" with blonde hair and brown eyes. He had in his possession $25. Rosa Mueller and her two younger children arrived in New York City on April 17, 1926 after an 11 days journey aboard ship with their final destination Morton Grove, Illinois where Adolf Poehner resided. However, Rosa listed the relative in the United States as her eldest son, Heinrich. They small family sailed on the SS Columbus. Rosa was described when arriving at New York City port as being 5' 2" with brown hair, blue eyes and fair complexion. The money in her possession upon arrival was $75. By 1930 Rosa was living in Niles, Cook County, Illinois. Frederick Joachem lived in Cook County, Illinois from the time of his arrival in 1926 at the age of 19 until his death in 1985. Ruth Ursula arrived in the United States at the age of 12 years and lived with her mother at Morton Grove. The 1930 census lists Rosa as head of household at 8514 Georgiana Ave. in Mountain Grove village, Niles township with Christopher, 24, Fred, 23, and Ruth, 15, as family members and Louis and Albert Boxler as boarders along with Michael Meyer. Christopher was a machinist and could read and write. Christopher and Juanita Clark were married February 7, 1932 at Kenilworth, Illinois. Ruth Mueller and Louis Boxler, born in Alsace-Lorraine, married November 5, 1935 in Morton Grove, Illinois. (Illinois Federal Naturalization Records, 1856 - 1991) Louis was a salesman at a retail automobile business in 1940. Ruth received her Naturalization papers on October 10, 1939 after marrying Louis Boxler. According to the April 1940 federal census record, Christian [sic] Mueller, wife and 7 year old son live in Glenview, Cook County, Illinois. Chris was a tool and dye maker. On September 30, 1940, Christopher petitioned for Naturalization while living at 6700 Riverside Road, Niles, Illinois. Juanita was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 26, 1905 and was a U.S. Citizen by birth as well as their son, Carl Otto, born in Evanston, Illinois September 4, 1932. A florist and machinist were witnesses to his petition, both living near the Mueller family. Chris received his Naturalization status January 27, 1941. In 1950 Louis and Ruth were living in the household of Raymond Wilhelmi, pastor of a church; Louis is a clerk at a bank and Ruth is a housekeeper for the church. Ruth and Louis continued to live in Illinois; he died in 1977 at the age of 72; Ruth died in October 1994 at the age of 80 in Morton Grove; graveside service took place at St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove where she was buried beside her mother. In 1950 Chris G. Mueller, age 44, is married and living with his wife, Juanita, and son, Carl C. in Denison, Grayson Co., T exas on Hwy. 75, south of Denison. Chris was a plastic tool maker with Plastic Products; Juanita wa a Tourist Court operator and their 17 years old son helped his mother at the Tourist Court. (1950 Grayson Co., Texas Federal Census, sheet 40). Carl was born in New York in 1933. The 1951 Denison, Texas City Directory lists Christopher and Juanita as residing at 2008 Hwy. 75 South and Juanita working at Star Courts 2408 Hwy. 75. Carl is listed as a student. Christopher Gottfried Mueller died in 1969 and is buried in Cedarlawn Memorial Park, Sherman, Texas alongside his wife and son.
