Henry Coffin was born 23 October 23, 1851, James Town,
Guilford Co., North Carolina; son of
Dr. Shubal Gardner Coffin (b. May 29, 1809, Guilford Co., North Carolina)
and Laura Lowry Mendenhall (b. November 15, 1836, Guilford Co., North Carolina). They
moved
to Indiana. Arthur Coffin died October 31, 1934, Denison, Grayson Co., Texas.
Arthur
Henry Coffin and Anna Mary Richie married March 9, 1876 in a Quaker
Church in New Paris, Preble Co., Ohio. Their children were:
1. Anna Laura Coffin b. March 4, 1877 Denison, Texas; married a Mr. Marr of North Carolina
2. Elizabeth White Coffin b. January 13, 1880; marred John W. Lewis of Greensboro, North Carolina
3. Margaret Barger Coffin b. December 21, 1881 Denison, Texas; married George H. Capen of California
4. Mabel Francis Coffin b. December 5, 1883 Denison, Texas; d. December 18, 1883
5. S. B. Coffin b. North Carolina, adopted

Coffin - Denison, Texas, Aug. 9 - Mrs. Anna Mary Coffin,
aged 64 years, died yesterday afternoon at 5:15 o'clock at the family residence.
No. 516 West Gandy street, after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Coffin
was the wife of A. H. Coffin, City Tax Collector, and had been a resident
of Denison the last thirty years. The funeral arrangements have not been
made, pending the arrival of relatives from out of the city. Besides a
husband, the deceased is survived by the following daughters; Mrs. Laura
C. Marr of Pinehurst, N.C.; Mrs. John W. Lewis of Greensboro, N.C.; Mrs.
George H. Capen of Los Angeles, Cal., and an adopted son, S. B. Coffin
of High Point, N.C.; two sisters, Miss Sarah M. Ritchie and Miss Grace
Ritchie of Denison; two brothers, John S. Richie of Scotts Mills, Ore.,
and S. C. Richie of New Paris, Ohio.

Mary Coffin's death certificate records that she lived at 516 W.
Gandy, Denison; parents Samuel S. Richie b. Eastern Ohio
and Anna
S. Shoemaker b. Montgomery Co. Penn.; died of cancer affecting middle left
ear and surrounding tissue and exhaustion.
Arthur Henry Coffin's death certificate records that he died at Long- Sneed Hospital, Denison. 521 W. Woodlawn of myocardial
failure; wife is
listed as Mrs. Nannie Coffin; was a Civil Engineer and later, City Tax
Assessor and collector.
The person making out the certificate put his and his wife's information in
the parents place.
