married Benjamin Ogle February 3, 1874 in Dallas, Texas. They
lived
and farmed in the Denison area until their deaths. Their children were :
As Benjamin died at a fairly young age, Rachael was left with the three children to care for. Rachael died January 4, 1902 at her family home, and just four days later her daughter Geneva followed her to the grave. According to the family story which was handed down throughout the years, the daughters were cheated out of their Ogle inheritance by a cousin of their father, Gene Ogle, and a crooked lawyer named Betcher of Sherman, Texas. Effie Ann Ogle married Willie Ira "Bill" Goff on December 31, 1899 in Sherman, Texas. Mr. Goff was a member of the large Goff family of Grayson County whose patriarch was Robert Bethel Goff and his wife Harriet Amanda "Mandy" Milam Goff, who had moved to Grayson County from Moulton, Alabama sometime between 1873 and 1877. R. B. and Harriet, as well as many of their offspring, are buried in Cherry Mound Cemetery. Although a few of the Goffs moved from Grayson County, many, if not most, remained throughout their entire lives. Effie Ann Ogle and Willie Ira Goff lived for several years in Marshall County, Oklahoma, as well as other Oklahoma counties, and during the 1940s moved to California, where they both lived out their lives with their only surviving daughter, Willie Lee Goff Myatt and her husband, Roy Joe Myatt. Their daughter, Rachel Goff, died January 27, 1919 at age 15 in Woodville, Oklahoma of the Spanish Influenza. Masona L. Ogle married William M. McKemie and moved to Wichita Falls where she raised her two boys, William Howard & Robert Earl.

Terrell, Kaufman County, Texas August 7, 1891 Bitten by a Snake He Had Beheaded
Denison, Texas, July 30 - Mr. Benjamin Ogle, a prominent farmer living about four miles southeast of the city, about two weeks ago killed a copperhead snake at his wood pile near his house, and as his children played around the wood pile, he took an ax and cut it into small pieces to throw it away. While tossing the pieces to one side, he picked up the head, and as he motioned his arm, the mouth closed on the index finger of his left hand. One tooth entered the finger, but he thought nothing of the matter and paid no further attention to it. The latter part of last week Mr. Ogle went into his pasture to get up some cordwood, and while at work became very warm, as the day was very hot, and from that time his finger commenced swelling. Saturday he was in the city and his hand was swollen slightly, but he heeded it not, as he entertained no fears but on returning home he felt sick. He still thought of no serious consequences. He grew worse, and a messenger was sent to the city for a physician to attend him, but before medical assistance arrived Mr. Ogle was dead. He was swollen out of proportion and the left arm and breast had turned almost black. Dallas Morning News January 9, 1902 Ogle - Denison, Texas, January 6 - Mrs. R. E. Ogle died at her home, about four miles southeast of this city, yesterday, aged 45 years. Rachael Emelia "Emma" Manley was born Dec 17, 1855 in Sherman, Texas to Thomas J. Manley and Mahala A. Jolly. Both parents were (likely) born in Kentucky. There were six known children to this marriage, Amelia A., Rachael Emelia, Gabriel B., William T., Elizabeth Jane and Carrie Manley. Elizabeth Jane and her husband, Samuel Cummings are both buried near her mother, Mahala, in the old Oakwood Cemetery in Denison. Researcher Notes: The gravesites of Rachael, her father, Thomas Manley, and her husband, Benjamin Ogle, are unknown. Not much is known of Benjamin by his
descendents. Although they have researched records for years,
they
have still been unable to determine exactly who his parents were.
However, it is known that he was born in Illinois (perhaps St. Clair
County)
on Dec 22, 1853 of a fairly prominent family, his mother was perhaps
born
in Germany and his father Delaware. He married Rachael Manley on
February 3, 1874 in Dallas, Texas, and died near Denison, Texas on July
29, 1891
