Chrystopher MYERS Family Line
Most of the information here was
compiled by Ron Weddle and Bert
Thompson. This is an attempt by the researches to correct
information
which has appeared in books and Web Sites which we believe to be
erroneous.
The 1830 federal census of Monroe County lists
one Margaret Myors
or Myers as head of household. She was a native of Cumberland County
(now
Clinton Co.) Kentucky who arrived in Indiana circa 1827. She had four
children:
Jacob B. Myers, who married Martha "Patsy" Huff in 1828; Elizabeth
Myers,
who married Peter Whisenand in 1829; Henderson Allen Myers, who married
Minerva S. Coatney in 1838, and Minerva C. Myers, who married William
W.
Duncan in 1835. It is believed that her first husband was Chrystopher
Myers
who stayed and remarried in Kentucky.

born in 1776 in Pennsylvania.
He died on 18 Jul 1856 in Clinton Co., Kentucky.
Chrystopher MYERS and Margaret
UNKNOWN were married about 1806.
Margaret UNKNOWN was born on 16 May 1788 in Kentucky. She
died in
Jun 1852 in Monroe Co., Indiana. She was buried in
Richardson/Brummett
Cemetery, Monroe, Co., Indiana. Chrystopher MYERS and
Margaret UNKNOWN
had the following children:

Reneau WARDEN were married in 1823.
Elizabeth Reneau WARDEN was born on 20 Nov 1790 in Jonesboro, Carter
County,
TN. She died on 12 Sep 1868 in Cumberland County,
Kentucky.
Chrystopher MYERS and Elizabeth Reneau WARDEN had the following

4. Henderson Allen MYERS
(Chrystopher-1) was born on 28 Jan
1814 in Cumberland Co., Kentucky. He died on 22 Mar 1876 in
Monroe
Co., Indiana. He was buried in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Monroe
Co., Indiana.
Henderson Allen MYERS and Manerva S.
COATNEY were married on 4 Apr
1838 in Monroe Co., Indiana. Manerva S. COATNEY was born on
25 Aug
1819 in Kentucky. She died on 1 Sep 1859 in Monroe Co.,
Indiana.
She was buried in Mt. Gilead Cemetery, Monroe Co., Indiana.
Henderson
Allen MYERS and Manerva S. COATNEY had the following children:

ii. Samuel MYERS was born in 1843 in Monroe Co., Indiana.

iv. Thomas T. MYERS was born on 14 Aug 1851 in Monroe Co.,
Indiana.
He died on 5 May 1865 in Monroe Co, Indiana. He was buried in

Gilead Cemetery, Monroe Co., Indiana.

v. William Henderson MYERS (born on 19 Jul 1856). He married Sarah Jane
Hash in 1878 and two of their children were Abbie Lea Myers
and Minnie
Lee Myers, the mothers of Helen Betty Daniel Shelton and Henry Sherman
Clountz respectively. Helen Betty Shelton was the mother of
Shirley
Ann Shelton (my, Natalie Denise Wester's, natural mother) and
Henry
Sherman Clountz adopted me (Natalie Denise Clountz).
Henderson Allen MYERS and Rachel
(Hensley) STEPHENS were married
on 21 Apr 1860 in Monroe Co., Indiana. Rachel (Hensley)
STEPHENS
was born on 21 January 1813 in Hardin Co., Kentucky. She died on
30 September
1891 in Monroe Co., Indiana. She was buried in
Richardson/Brummett
Cemetery, Monroe, Co., Indiana. She is reference number 1971.
5. Minerva C. MYERS
(Chrystopher-1) was born on 17 May 1817
in Cumberland Co., Kentucky. She died on 4 December 1907 in
Isabel, Barber
Co., Kansas. She was buried in Isabel Cemetery, Isabel Co.,
Kansas.
