BUSBY FAMILY My
great grandfather, Harlan Page Busby, came to Texas in 1868, and to
Grayson County
in 1923 from Van Zant County, Texas. He came to Grayson County with
Frank Leslie & Cora Busby, his son, daughter-in-law &
family.
He
enlisted under Captian Brown, Co G, Bell's Batallion, attached to
General
McCay's Brigade, Georgia. He was wounded in Doctortown, in southwest
Georgia,
and had his leg amputated. He died in 1931 and is buried in
Cannon Cemetery. "

P. Busby, 83 years old, died this morning at his home near here.
Funeral services were held this afternoon, conducted by Rev. J.W.
Holsapple, pastor of the First Christian church. Burial was
in the Cannon Cemetery. Mr. Busby was born March 14, 1847 in
Georgia. He came to Texas 62 years ago, locating at Jefferson.
He is survived by two sons, Wilborne and Leslie, both of Van Alstyne; three daughters, Mrs. Fannie Curtis, Ft. Worth; Mrs. Hassie Priddie, Ferris; and Mrs. Lillian Simpson, Ennis; four sisters, Mrs. Elizab eth R uffing, Rush Springs, Oklahoma; Mrs. Sofana Davis, Seagoville; Mrs. Eugena Stanford, Grand Saline; Mrs. Elmora Laurel, Edgewood; and one brother, Frank Busby, Jacksonville; 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. 1927 Back Row (L-R): Hubert, Cora Lee (Simpson) Busby, Frank Leslie, Herbert, Auldon Busby Front Row (L-R): H.
