Thelma Brockett
Braun (1902–1998) was the daughter of Fred
and Mary A. Brockett Braun and is buried in
Calvary Cemetery, Denison.
She was a gifted musician who spent many
years playing the organ and piano for area
organizations and churches. She never
married and had no children of her own,
but she loved the young people in Denison.
Upon her death, she created the Thelma
Braun and Brockett Family Foundation,
which makes grants to charitable
organizations in Grayson County, Texas,
especially in the area of arts and
education.
The Denison High School Theater
Department's Thelma Braun Center for
Performing Arts is named in honor of Ms.
Braun.
