Garland Griffith, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Griffith of Denton, who died in Hot Springs, New Mexico Tuesday was buried in the Oakwood Cemetery here Thursday afternoon. He had been in ill health for some time and had gone to New Mexico in the hope of improving from a siege of rheumatism and heart trouble.
The body of Mr. Griffith was shipped by train to Denton where funeral services were held Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. It was then brought overland to Whitesboro for interment, the cortege going directly to Oakwood.
He was formerly a resident of this city, when a boy, residing here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Griffith. The latter are well known in this section, John Griffith being a brother of Will Griffith who lives here now.
