Young 25 May 1921 - 1 October 2007 Staff Sergeant US Army WWII Purple Heart Pauline Young, 82, went home to be with her Lord on February 23, 2006. Services were held Sunday, February 26 with interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro, following. She was born October 6, 1923 to William and Lillie Johnson. She married Ralph Young on July 4, 1942 in Whitesboro, Texas. She is survived by her husband; son, Joe and wife, Carmen, Young of Calera, Oklahoma; daughter, Kay Clark and husband, Jack, of Whitesboro; five grandchildren: Jennifer Robertson, Derek and Jordan Young, Sara Baugh and Preston Robertson; four great-grandchidren: Kyler and Kade Robertson, Chase and Hailey Clark; sister, Margaret Young and brother Leroy Johnson of Whitesboro. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jake Johnson and Dub Johnson; sisters, Susie Privette, Ruby Davault and Sis Collins and grandson Todd Clark. Ralph Young, 86, passed away Monday, October 1, 2007. Funeral services were held Wednesday, October 3 with Rev. Jody Dyer officiating. Interment followed at Oakwood Cemetery, Whitesboro. Ralph was born May 25, 1921 in Collinsville, the son of Joe and Thelma Leverett Young. He married Gladis Pauline Young on July 4, 1942 in Whitesboro. Ralph served in the US Army as a Staff Sgt. during WWII in the European theater where he hit the beach at Normandy. During his military service, he received two Purple Hearts, four Bronze Stars and one Bronze Arrowhead. He was a mechanic by trade and also retired from Denton State School as a House Parent. Ralph was a member of the First Baptist Church, Whitesboro. He is survived by two children: son, Joe Young and wife, Carmen, of Calera, Oklahoma; daughter, Kay Clark and husband, Jack, of Whitesboro; five grandchildren: Jennifer Robertson of Durant, Oklahoma; Derek Young of Calera, Oklahoma; Jordan Young of Whitesboro; Sara Baugh of Calera, Oklahoma and Preston Robertson of Calera, Oklahoma; five great-grandchildren, Kyler, Kade and Ashley Robertson, Chase and Hailey Clark. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and grandson, Patrick Todd Clark. Pallbearers were Johnny Welch, Gene Young, Ronnie Reed, Mike Click, Gene Bryan and Ronnie Raney.
